'Green' Walks through Pamplona
The city has more than four million square metres of parkland, and it is often possible to walk from one park to another. Each neighbourhood has green spaces at its centre and the residential areas are also dotted with parks, squares and gardens.
El Parque fluvial del Arga (Arga River Park)

This recent initiative by the City Council has led to the environmental recovery of the banks of the river Arga and a rapprochement between urban planning and the natural surroundings. It has become a point of contact between the residents of Pamplona and the natural environment.
The route takes you past the walls of the Historic Quarter and along the river through the market gardens of Pamplona , tracing a line in which the city blends into its surroundings, marked by buildings used for agricultural purposes.

This 7-mile-river walk is ideal for taking a stroll or a bike ride.
The route also takes you through the neighbourhood of la Rochapea, projected site for the San Fermines Theme Centre. This area has undergone a major transformation in recent years, as illustrated by the new bridges over the river: Oblatas and San Pedro.

Located in the old monastery of San Pedro, the idea behind this museum is the promotion of responsible energy consumption. On display are natural resources, how Man uses them, and what should be done so as not to exhaust them.
Mendillorri, the green neighbourhood

Building started in the 1990's and was completed in 2003, Mendillorri is surrounded by parkland organised to accommodate a wide range of sporting activities. The largest park in the neighbourhood skirts a lake and a 12th-century noble house with a tower.
In addition to its extensive park areas ( 58 m 2 per housing unit), the other notable feature of Mendillorri is its extremely high birth rate, one of the highest in Europe, which contrasts with the low birth rate in the rest of Navarre.
