San Juan

Avenida Bayona is the main thoroughfare in this neighbourhood; it starts at Antoniutti park and runs as far as La Vaguada, very close to Yamaguchi park. The area has many quality shops, bars and cafés and is an ideal place to combine a stroll with shopping and leisure activities.

San Juan street guide

San Juan is well known for its traditional bars. You can choose between an aperitif and tapas, a game of snooker, a beer in one of its many kellers or a drink in one of the cocktail bars along the Travesía Bayona. New establishments have also sprung up around the new Law Courts: modern bars and restaurants with Internet access, live concerts and exotic foreign food, salsa bars (where it is hard not to dance), ‘after-hours' bars and the discos Marengo, Vaivén or Reverendos make San Juan the liveliest night area of the city.

Where to eat

Whether your prefer a bar snack or a sit-down meal, Sancho el Fuerte, Avenida Bayona, Barañáin or Monasterio de la Oliva have just what you need: à la carte, mixed platters, traditional bar snacks, sandwiches, pizza or Chinese food.

Parque de Antoniutti

Parque de Antoniutti

This could be considered as an extension of the Parque de la Taconera, the oldest in the city. A professional roller-skating track runs round the park, which also has a skateboard area and a children's playground. Roller-skating is a popular sport in Pamplona , and the city plays host to major championships every year. In recent winters a small ice skating rink has been installed in the park, which is particularly enjoyed by the younger skaters.
